Hi,
I'm Rob Kaufman, I'm 24 and currently employed as a software
validation engineer in Irvine. I've got a BS in Computer Science from
Cal Poly Pomona. I currently live in north county (yeah Solana Beach
=-) and am looking to move to a job closer to home in the near future.
I'm getting married this fall to an awsome usability designer (the
reason I can San Dieogo home).

I'm experienced with many languages (Java, C, Python, C++, VB, some
PHP and Perl, etc) and I really find Ruby to be a marvel in power
through simplicity. I've been riding the Rails for side projects and
such for some time and have built 5 or 6 apps with it. I started with
Ruby back at the tail end of the 1.6 branch. I got turned off of it
because the documents where not up to date / only availible in
Japanise and because a lot of things where broken due to the upcoming
transition. I tried it again after reading "The Pragmatic Programer:
>From Journeyman to Master"
[http://www.pragmaticprogrammer.com/ppbook/index.shtml] and fell in
love with the updated 1.8 release.

I'd be interested in doing a talk on binding Ruby to C libraries
(I've been researching this for the rcalendar project
[http://rcalendar.rubyforge.org/]). My blog is at
